i have been thinking about putting together a list of company values of the new business and I was looking for inspiration from companies that I admire. Patagonia had a paragraph that captures part of the passion that I have for cycling.

Patagonia grew out of a small company that made tools for climbers. Alpinism remains at the heart of a worldwide business that still makes clothes for climbing – as well as for skiing, snowboarding, surfing, fly fishing, paddling and trail running. These are all silent sports. None requires a motor; none delivers the cheers of a crowd. In each sport, reward comes in the form of hard-won grace and moments of connection between us and nature.
I would love to hear any suggestions that you may have of values that you think should drive a business.

I once knew a person who on selling a used part to a guy cross country realized the shipping price charged was more than actual cost at the post office, instead of keeping the extra, they dropped the extra cash in the box and sent it on it's way. That kind of INTEGRITY will translate to the trust and respect needed to run a successful partnership with the cycling community.
Values? Put your passion before your pocketbook. Live what you believe. Sell what you love.
Brent, Congrats! I'm way excited for your new life. Does this mean you're moving north? I don't know about company values but I would value a nice cafe americano when I go to the bike shop but I don't know of any shop doing that. Maybe a place to sit as well. BTW, I love the name of your new shop. Best of luck with it all.
Brad. Glad you found this little corner of the World Wide Web. In the plans is a place to sit and rest your weary bones. What I need is to find another business to take the 1200 sq. ft.next to my space in the building and put a great little coffee shop next door. The aroma would also be a nice replacement to the smell of tires and grease. spread the word.
brad, YOU put a coffee shop next to brent. i would spend every lunch for the rest of my life wandering between brent's shop (with the best bike shop name i've heard) and your coffee.
